About Us

Tradewinds Oriental Shop established in 1984 is a family run business based in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire.

The business first started out with a small market stall selling a small selection of basic Chinese cooking ingredients and a variety of oriental arts and crafts. After 2 years there was sufficient demand to open a small shop in Scunthorpe. In 1991 we moved to a larger premises on Cole Street where we have been based since. Over time the demand for our products has come from areas outside the vicinity of Scunthorpe and in 2009 we have launched both our website and eBay shop.

We pride ourselves on our extensive range of essential cooking ingredients. These authentic food and spices are sourced by ourselves from importers throughout the UK. Our comprehensive range originates from the majority of South East Asian countries. We can offer a personal service by usually obtaining any item that we don't stock. We also supply wholesale and specialise in Thai and Chinese products.

Similarly our arts and crafts have been selected to provide an interesting oriental cross section of cultures and customs. We also sell a range of kitchenware, furniture and home accessories, and incense.

In general our pricing strategy is based on providing a fair price to all and we pride ourselves on meeting the expectations of our customers.
